Say it, don’t assume it

Say it

Say it! Don’t make judgments on your opinions, don’t assume that you know what other people think, let other think for themselves. Your views are yours, they are worth sharing and they are not for everyone to agree on.

When you have something to say, Say it! Be human! You have a brain, it works, let others notice. Participate with your ideas, your views and your opinions.

If you feel uncomfortable about something, Say it! Get a better view on the others opinions. By default our brains will select the worth worst possible options. By saying it you’ll get to know the real thoughts behind the words, most of the time it’s not as bad as you assumed.

Share your views, express your opinions, be honest with the persons around you and be an example of openness.

“The best way to get a good idea is to have a lot of ideas” – Linus Pauling

  1. A good point. One I’ve seen before but certainly something I’ve championed in the past, especially in my own team. I think the “don’t assume things” is as valuable a point as “Say it”, possibly more so.

I certainly see times when “don’t say it” is valuable. I rarely see times when assumptions can be safely taken for granted, especially in a growing international company like ours.
