Welcome. I’m Frank Contrepois, a technologist and FinOps practitioner who has spent more than twenty years moving between engineering, leadership, and strategy.
This site is where I do what I love most: learning and sharing.

Every week, I spend between ten and twenty hours exploring how FinOps is evolving, especially the business side of it. I look at what vendors are doing, what the market is signalling, and what new tools or techniques are helping people manage cloud costs better.

I write essays, build tools, and publish what I discover.
Some pieces are free for registered members, including the FinOps Toolkit, my open-source collection of small, working tools and articles that apply the “context is everything” philosophy to real-world FinOps work.
The first releases include the Cost and Usage tool and the Forecasting tool.

For subscribers (£10 / €12 / $15 per month or £100 / €120 / $150 per year), I go deeper. You’ll get access to essays like Old Friend, Old Skills, early tool releases, and research that takes more time to develop — such as the upcoming CUR Validator, which can analyse a CUR file in seconds without Athena or Glue.
