Many actions in a team require being together at the same time in the same place (i.e. synchronous). Meetings, conf call, presentations and many more are examples of synchronous activities.
The synchronous approach’s problem is that it requires lots of logistics, coordination, emails. The result is also sub-optimal, with people not being able to dedicate 100% of their brains to the meeting. Multi-tasking is not only physical; it is in the head too.
I recently started thinking about what asynchronous effective team communication could work. Is it possible to replace most meetings via some asynchronous collaboration system that would work even better?
My initial test is a combination of SnagIt (to create good visual content)+ Google Drive (to store) + slack (to comment)
